   Excavation and base prep — the footing determines everything; we don't cut corners here

   Drainage installation — weeping tile or gravel backfill is installed to prevent hydrostatic pressure

   Wall construction — stone, brick, or block is laid course by course to the correct batter

   Backfill and grading — the wall is backfilled, compacted, and graded to finish
